FAQ

Common Questions

My employer is sexually harassing me. What can I do?
Under the Protection Against Harassment of Women at Workplace Act 2010, your employer is legally required to have an Inquiry Committee. You can file a complaint with the Federal/Provincial Ombudsman. Our female advocates handle these cases with complete sensitivity and confidentiality — you do not have to face this alone.
I was fired without notice or reason. Is this legal?
No. Under Pakistani labour law, termination without notice or cause is generally unlawful. You are entitled to notice pay, severance, and reinstatement in many cases. Our advocates file labour court cases to recover your job or full compensation.
My employer hasn't paid my salary for 3 months. What can I do?
Withholding wages is illegal. You can file a complaint before the Labour Department and a suit before the Labour Court for recovery of wages plus damages. Our advocates have successfully recovered unpaid wages for many women.
Am I entitled to maternity leave?
Yes. Under the Maternity Benefit Ordinance 1958, female employees are entitled to 12 weeks of paid maternity leave (6 weeks before and 6 weeks after delivery). Some provinces have extended this. Your employer cannot dismiss you during maternity leave.
